FAVORITES

These are a few of my favorite things…when the dog bites, when the bee stings (sorry, it’s just automatic). Here’s a list of stuff that I love! Click on the links to find out more about my interests that may also interest you:

• Blogging – DID THAT SURPRISE YOU? But I bet you didn’t know WHY I love blogging. Ever since I started fairly recently, it’s been a way to get my ideas out. It’s public too, so I can get comments on it, I can tell people to read my entries and I can see what they think about my ideas and my writing style. For me, it’s a much better form of expression than paper diaries because I can interact and talk (always a favorite pastime) with people who have an interest in expression through writing.
• Third Eye Blind - After many recommendations and OMG HOW DO YOU NOT HAVE THIRD EYE BLIND ON YOUR IPOD?’s, I finally decided to buy (or get really cheaply) some of their songs and actually listen to them because I wanted to. And I realized that they’re a REALLY good band; good voice, cool music, interesting lyrics. My two favorite songs are Wounded and Semi-Charmed Life. They’re my latest favorite thing to listen to.
• The Namesake – I finished reading this book in about two days–it was that good. My mom had been recommending this book to me forever and I finally got a chance to get a copy. Jhumpa Lahiri’s casual and elegant writing style intrigued me. I loved this book and I want to see the movie really badly now (even though I’m lazy and probably won’t for like years). It’s the book I’m recommending to everyone now.
• The Alliance for Young Artists and Writers - This is basically a really cool competition for artists and writers, and I presume that if you blog, you have an interest in writing! I got the compilation of the best entries that were submitted and they’re all really good. It shows what young kids can do nowadays and I’m planning to submit something for next judging!
• Urban Outfitters and Free People – Two awesome stores (online mostly) that have sweet styles. This might not be your style of clothing, but check these out. They’re pretty popular brand names and have something for everyone.
• My iPod Touch - I literally could not live without this thing. It has everything (I’m sure you already know that). Plus, the price has come down like 500 bucks (not really) since I bought it so it’s actually a really cheap price for an awesome product. I blew pretty much my entire life savings (which was only like 400 dollars) on it and I don’t regret it one bit.
• Leather Bracelets – Especially those from American Eagle and/or random thrift shops. If I find a bracelet made of leather, I’m probably going to buy it. If I don’t have any money to buy them, I will force myself to leave the store before I start stealing. What can I say? I’m obsessed.
• Taylor  Swift – Of course, I’m always listening to Taylor Swift. I can always relate to the songs on her self-titled debut and her Fearless Platinum record and I’m never tired of her pretty vocals. She is my go-to artist for all times, moods, and occassions.
